A revised (£6.5m) scheme was approved by Wirral Council in March 2010. The new scheme has 56 rather than 66 bedrooms.
Planning permission (for a £7m redevelopment with 66 hotel rooms) was given by Wirral Council in November 2008 - see Wirral News article
The Kings Gap Hotel in Hoylake was purchased by the Sanguine Group and with the plan of being completely remodelled at a cost of £10m, with re-branding as a Ramada hotel.
The plans were to retain the original old house, containing 16 rooms, with a new-build element with 96 rooms and suites, and an underground car park.
